In this lesson, students read and analyze Scene Ten of A Streetcar Named Desire, in which Stanley and Blanche are alone together in the apartment, and Stanley physically assaults Blanche. Students discuss how Blanche and Stanley’s interactions contribute to the development of their respective characters and how their interactions further develop and refine the play’s central ideas.
