In Lesson 8, students discovered that if they compose two linear transformations in the plane, 𝐿𝐴 and 𝐿𝐵, represented by matrices 𝐴 and 𝐵, respectively, then the resulting transformation can be produced using a single matrix 𝐴𝐵. In this lesson, this result from transformations in the plane is extended to transformations in three-dimensional space, ℝ 3 .
This lesson was designed to be implemented using the GeoGebra applet TransformCubes (http://eureka-math.org/G12M2L9/geogebra-TransformCubes), which allows students to visualize the transformation of the cube.
