Discrete Random Variables

Description

This lesson introduces students to the definition of a discrete random variable as a function that assigns a numerical value to each outcome of a sample space. It is not necessary to use the function terminology, but if so, discuss the domain of the function as representing the sample space and the range of the function as representing the set of possible values that the random variable might take on.
