Description
This lesson introduces 2 × 2 matrices and their use for representing linear transformation through multiplication (N-VM.C.11, N-VM.C.12). Matrices provide a third method of representing rotation and dilation of the plane, as well as other linear transformations that students have not yet been exposed to in this module, such as reflection and shearing.
