Students analyze the images presented in the “Portrait Gallery of Sugar Work,” considering how sugar labor is depicted in the images and their captions. Students compare this treatment to an earlier passage of Sugar Changed the World, and reflect how the authors use these images to develop central ideas in the text. Students work with the Image Analysis Tool.
