Details Shape and Refine Ideas

Description

Students complete their reading of “The Sound of Liberty” which explores how European and American fear damaged the newborn Republic of Haiti. Student analysis focuses on determining a central idea of this passage and identifying and exploring how specific details shape and refine this idea. Through collaborative discussion, students are encouraged to consider how this section of text further develops the ideas that they explored in the previous lesson.
