Students will begin an exploration of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” by listening to a masterful reading of the entire text and beginning an analysis of the first paragraph, in which Poe introduces the narrator. Students will analyze and discuss anchor standard CCRA.R.6 and consider the narrator’s purpose in the first paragraph.
