Transition to Research Process

Description

In this lesson, students transition from analyzing the seed text, Guns Germs and Steel, to focusing solely on the research process begun in earlier lessons. Students begin the lesson by learning more about the research process. Students discuss possible ways to organize the materials they will gather during 12.3.1, and select one method of organization to support their research process. Next, using the Area Evaluation Checklist, students vet their 2–3 possible areas of investigation and independently select an area of investigation to research.
