"I’m For Truth, No Matter Who Tells It"


Description

students read The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley in its entirety and analyze how Malcolm X’s experiences shape his character and develop central ideas. Students also explore the structure of the narrative and how style and content contribute to the text’s power and beauty. Throughout the unit, students examine the narrative elements of the text and practice using components of narrative writing in a personal essay.
