Description
In this lesson, students read and analyze chapters X–XI of The Awakening, in which Edna swims for the first time and recognizes her developing affection for Robert, as well as her growing independence from her husband. Student analysis focuses on the continued development of Edna as a character in relation to both her husband and Robert.
