Description
In this lesson, students read and analyze the second stanza of “From the House of Yemanjá.” In this stanza, Lorde further develops the speaker’s relationship with her mother and how this relationship influences the speaker’s identity. Students interpret the meaning of the figurative language in this stanza, and analyze the role it plays in the text.
