Description
In this lesson, students read and analyze paragraph 10 of the “Atlanta Compromise Speech,” in which Washington concludes his speech by pledging African Americans’ cooperation in Southern progress. Student analysis focuses on Washington’s development and refinement of two central ideas and how these ideas build on each other to support his purpose.
