Description
In this lesson, students read and discuss pages 168–171 of “The Palace Thief,” in which the narrator, Hundert, struggles to understand the events of the “Mr. Julius Caesar” competition and how best to move forward in its aftermath. Students analyze the conflict the narrator experiences, and explore how this conflict develops central ideas in the text.
