ABOUT UNBOUNDED

Our Resources

Unless otherwise posted, our materials are Open Educational Resources (OER), which means they are freely available and openly licensed.

What You Should Know About Using OER Materials

Our materials are free and can be used flexibly.

As part of our commitment to make high-quality, aligned content available to all educators, our materials are all Open Educational Resources (OER). OER are freely available teaching and learning materials that you may use, reuse, download, edit, and share to better serve your students.

Our Materials

UnboundEd’s curricular resources are derived largely from EngageNY materials which are licensed under the Creative Commons’ Attribution Non-Commercial Share-Alike (CC BY-NC-SA) license. This means others may remix, tweak, and build upon UnboundEd’s work non-commercially, as long as UnboundEd is credited and any new creations are licensed under the same terms. Materials created by other parties on our website are typically also published under the CC BY-NC-SA license.

Similarly, all materials created by UnboundEd, unless otherwise noted, are provided under the CC BY-NC-SA license. So you will see the following: “Copyright © 2018 UnboundEd Learning, Inc. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution NonCommerical ShareAlike 4.0 International License.”

These materials are identified using this icon: . Alternatively, we may include the CC button:

In some cases, materials on our site are licensed under the CC-BY license and are noted as such. More information on Creative Commons’ licenses can be found here.

What is provided under the CC BY-NC-SA license?

Except as noted below, the materials that we create are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This means you may:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material

As long as you follow the license terms:

  • Provide Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests that UnboundEd or any third party creator endorses you or your use.
  • No Commercial Use — You may not use the material for commercial purposes
  • ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
  • Add no additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

What if Material is not licensed under a Creative Commons license?

There may be instances where UnboundEd has received permission from a third party copyright owner to display or use their materials. We anticipate this to be a rare occurrence since we are committed to providing OER materials. However, when this occurs, UnboundEd will clearly attribute the copyright owner in the materials. You would need permission from the copyright owner to modify, display, re-use, or adapt the materials.
